Fabio Carvalho continues to go from strength to strength for Hull City, where he is on loan from Liverpool.

The 21-year-old attacker endured a poor spell on loan at RB Leipzig during the opening half to the season, failing to score in 15 matches in all competitions and returning to Anfield in order to secure another temporary switch.

That opportunity came with Liam Rosenior’s Hull side, who are still in with a shout for promotion to the Premier League through the Championship playoffs.

A major factor in the Tigers’ push for the playoffs has been the form of Carvalho, along with another Liverpool loanee in Tyler Morton.

The Portugal under-21 international was in great condition again on Saturday, netting Hull’s second goal in their 3-0 victory against Queens Park Rangers.

Carvalho has now scored SEVEN goals in his last 10 games for Hull, leading to conversations over what might happen when his loan spell ends at the conclusion of this campaign.

He has scored eight goals in 16 appearances overall, weighing in with key strikes against Southampton, West Brom, Leicester City and Cardiff City.

A new structure is going to be in place on Merseyside next season and it remains to be seen what will become of Liverpool’s loan stars including Carvalho.

New manager will decide Carvalho's future

And now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given his opinion, declaring that no decision on the player’s future will be made until a new manager is in place.

Richard Hughes is starting his job as sporting director officially in June and the Reds still need to finalise a successor to Jurgen Klopp.

Ruben Amorim would appear to be the frontrunner now that Xabi Alonso is out of the running and Romano says the new boss is going to have to make a decision on Carvalho.

Romano confirmed there IS interest in Carvalho from around Europe but any conversations have not moved beyond an initial enquiry.

“At the moment it’s just interest in terms of calling to ask for the situation, not a negotiation with Liverpool so it’s too early to discuss a potential formula of the deal or similar,” Romano told CaughtOffside as part of his Daily Briefing.

“Liverpool won’t decide now, it will depend on new manager, there are many things to sort before discussing Fabio’s future but his performances are appreciated by many clubs.”
