Despite languishing in the second tier of Italian football, the Serie B side took a shock lead in the 37th minute through Frank Tsadjout after Roma failed to take their opportunities.

The Romans failed to clear their lines properly after a long ball in behind and the 24-year-old forward pounced on the loose ball, firing it past Mile Svilar to give his side a 0-1 lead.

It took until the 77th minute for Roma to claw their way back level in the tie through Romelu Lukaku who had missed a golden opportunity in the first half.

The Belgian international was fed through by substitute Sardar Azmoun, and slotted his shot away in the bottom left corner past the outstretched Andreas Jungdal.

The hosts then completed the turn around in the 85th minute as Dybala emphatically fired home from the penalty spot after Leonardo Spinazzola was fouled in the box, to spare his side embarrassment.

The win sees José Mourinho’s side take on bitter rivals Lazio away in the quarter finals.
