According to a report from L’Équipe, Everton have seen their first offer for Lyon winger Malick Fofana (20) rejected. The Premier League club submitted an offer in the region of €36m, including bonuses for the Belgian international attacker. This offer falls short of OL’s expectations.

Les Gones are demanding a fixed fee of €40m for Fofana’s services before any further add-ons and bonuses have been negotiated. Despite Everton’s first offer being rejected, the two clubs remain in open dialogue over the potential transfer of the 20-year-old. Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also shown an interest in signing the OL forward this summer.

Whilst negotiations are ongoing between the Merseyside outfit and Lyon, the Belgian winger is in discussions with the Toffees to reach an agreement on personal terms. Everton are hoping to reach an agreement quickly to avoid other Premier League clubs entering the race to sign the former Gent attacker.
