Roma continue their negotiations with Hellas Verona for defender Daniele Ghilardi, who will cost over €10m, spread out as a loan with obligation to buy.
There had been reports for several days of strong interest in the centre-back and the talks have been progressing well, but have still not reached a conclusion.
It was already stated by multiple sources that the opening €9m plus bonuses proposal was rejected, and that they would increase it to reach double figures.
That has now happened, but the €10m bid is still considered insufficient, so they are trying to bridge the gap with performance-related bonuses.

Meanwhile, Il Tempo newspaper’s transfer expert Filippo Biafora claims that the deal will be a loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season.
This is significant, as it means Roma can spread out the cost of the operation so it is in next year’s budget and not the current campaign.
They hope to get the deal over the line by Monday.
The 22-year-old is a regular for the Italy Under-21 squad with 16 caps at that level and has also been linked with Real Betis this summer.
