Roma interested in Tottenham’s Eric Dier | OneFootball

Serie A side Roma are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Francesco Balzani, Roma are looking to strengthen their defence for the remaining part of the season as well as for the future and they are willing to sign Dier from Tottenham.

The Englishman has his Spurs’ contract running out in the summer of 2024 and he is yet to feature for his team during this first part of the season. Jose Mourinho knows the defender well from his time at the Premier League club and he is set to capitalize on this opportunity as soon as Dier hands in the transfer request.

Chris Smalling still remains a first-choice option for the Portuguese manager but being prone to injuries, it is becoming hard for the Giallorossi to believe in the performances of the 34-year-old.

Oumar Solet also remains a possibility to be explored if the Dier deal goes haywire in the near future.
