Roma have announced that after impressing in an interim role, Daniele De Rossi will remain in charge as the club’s head coach.
The former captain took over in January following the sacking of José Mourinho, being appointed on an initial deal until the end of the season.
Writing in an open letter on the club’s website, owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin have confirmed that a decision has been made on De Rossi’s future.
“After a meeting held yesterday afternoon with Daniele, we’re pleased to announce he’ll continue to hold the position of head coach until the end of the season and for the foreseeable future,” the statement said.
“The positive impact his leadership brought to the entire club in his short time in charge has continued his extraordinary story with Roma.
“We’ll continue to work together with ever greater commitment to offer the future that Roma fans deserve. We couldn’t be happier to build a long-term project with Daniele.”
