Roma coach Paulo Fonseca was pleased after their 1-0 defeat of Bologna.

Borja Mayoral struck the only goal of the game, which also saw Bryan Reynolds make his full debut.

“It was important to rest some players who were in Amsterdam on Thursday," Fonseca told Sky Sport Italia.

“It's true we had difficulties in the first 25 minutes with their pressing man-to-man, but we balanced it out and the second half was completely different.

“I think we created more scoring opportunities and deserved the victory."

Reynolds was granted his first Serie A start after his move from MLS.

“He is learning a great deal, he's doing much better, but we mustn't forget he's young and just arrived from a totally different style of football.

“It's not easy for him, he might've been a little anxious at first, but I liked his performance and he can do well in future."
