More specifically, Roma have been linked with the pursuit of various strikers across Europe including Brian Brobbey, Joanathan David, Alexander Sorloth and Artem Dovbyk.

However, English news media suggest Roma are also monitoring an option from the Premier League.

Namely, Roma have put their sights on Crystal Palace’s Jean-Phillippe Mateta who is currently representing France at the Paris Olympics.

According to CaughtOffside, Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is following Mateta.

The Crystal Palace center forward is valued at 30/35 million euros, but the English club is holding off for now.

After the sale of Olise Palace don’t want to lose another valuable piece of the squad.

Roma, however, is trying and has recently started the first contacts, opening talks with the player’s camp.
