“I met De Rossi at SPAL. Initially I went to work there as a scout and analyst, then we found each other, staying in touch even afterwards, then arriving together at Roma. I thank Daniele and the club for this great opportunity, in a top club.”

“Working at the highest levels is spectacular and, paradoxically, even easier. I often look at offensive players, opposing attackers and dead ball situations. Doing it in a world that is better known first of all makes it easier for you to find information, and it is also stimulating to go and look for a slightly more hidden detail, so as not to discover hot water, that’s it…”

“We try to work with the defenders on the movements and orientations of the opponents. How to prepare based on the characteristics of the players targeting you, give this type of information to our defenders to face the matches. Then, there is obviously the study of the opposing team which we all do together with the staff. The final decision always lies with the coach.”

“Hummels and Hermoso? To be able to work with athletes of such a high level undoubtedly makes you grow and is beautiful, stimulating. You undoubtedly learn some details much better, some notions that are good to keep in mind at every stage of the match.”

“In football there are two phases. With the ball or without. As a player, without the ball – as a defender – I gained experience and the teams I played for were always put under quite a bit of pressure. In Serie B or C it’s like this. The phase with the ball, however, requires different attention. Like the evaluation of controls, spaces, rhythms: Daniele made all these things easier for me, offering me a different interpretation, decoding them in another way and then being able to offer the kids information that was as precise and detailed as possible”.
