Thomas Tuchel is placing trust in the Aston Villa players. Under him, Marcus Rashford reentered back into the fold, and Ezri Konsa has solidified his position as one half of the center-back duo for the Three Lions. Now, Morgan Rogers is set to also be in the starting XI for the first time in his international career at the senior level.

This will be his fourth overall appearance, as he most recently came off the bench in the win against Albania. Now set to square off against Latvia, the midfielder will look to show that his manager's trust in him was not misplaced.

It ended up being a 2-0 win in Tuchel's first match in charge. By all means, at this point, getting positive results during World Cup qualification is the priority, and making it to the 2026 World Cup matters the most. That being said, there were plenty of areas of concern following the win, or more so, slight points of frustration.

The attack in particular looked uninspiring for a lot of the gameplay, and small murmurs now could easily become louder, particularly as the competition increases. This is why Rashford and Rogers have a great opportunity ahead of them right now.

Particularly in the midfield in the final third, no one has created a lasting impression to warrant permanent status in the starting lineup. With plenty of good options to potentially look at, this furthermore allows the two AVFC players to have a chance to cement a case for themselves.

Encouraging push for Aston Villa players from manager

Tuchel wants players to be daring while challenging opposing defenders and asking questions of the keepers. Safe possession play is needed at times, but especially against favorable matchups on the pitch, the German wants to see England players showcase their full abilities.

Being given this blessing from a coach can only be seen as an encouraging sign for Rashford and Rogers. Their role isn't at all theirs to lose, but it could be theirs to gain, to the delight of the Aston Villa faithful.
