Real Madrid star Rodrygo this evening provided his take on the club’s ongoing efforts to bring Kylian Mbappé in with a view to next season.

It is of course common knowledge across world football that the powers that be in Spain’s capital are hard at work behind the scenes, to at long last secure a contract agreement with frontman Mbappé.

The France international’s terms with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are due expire upon the close of the campaign, with Mbappé understood to have informed the Parc des Princes brass that he has no intention of staying put.

Real, long-time suitors of the 25-year-old, have in turn sprung into action once more.

Spanish and French sources alike point towards it being just a matter of time before an agreement is struck between the parties, ahead of one of the biggest transfers in recent history.

Speaking to the media on Saturday evening, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Mbappé’s potential arrival at the club was put to aforementioned Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

Striker Rodrygo would of course see his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s first-choice XI come under threat, in the case of PSG’s talisman making his way to the Santiago Bernabéu for next season.

Fresh off finding the net in his side’s top of the table drubbing of Girona, though, the Brazilian was nevertheless in welcoming mood:

“If Kylian Mbappé comes, he will help us,” Rodrygo began. “He is one of the best in the world.

“I want to play with the best players of course but I can’t say more on this topic.”
