Real Madrid youngster Endrick has provided an insight into the decision-making process which led to his latest goal for the club on Tuesday.
Frontman Endrick is for his part of course fresh off a night to remember.
Thrown into the fray late in Real Madrid’s Champions League season opener against Stuttgart, the Brazilian international rounded out the scoring, in a 3-1 win.
After breaking with the ball from deep, Endrick took aim at goal from a full 25 yards out, picking out the bottom corner courtesy of a rasping drive.
And yet, the goal, when it came, sparked immediate debate amongst those of a Blancos persuasion.
Endrick’s decision to go for goal from the position he was in, whilst ultimately justified, looked a questionable one at best at the time.
This comes with the 18-year-old having not only had plenty more space to run into, but also Vinícius Jr. completely free to his right, and Kylian Mbappé on his left.
In the end, Endrick opted to ignore both, with the rest, as they say, now history…
Speaking to the media on the back of Real getting the club’s European campaign up and running with a win, the subject of his goal was in turn inevitably put to the young striker himself.
And Endrick, in his response, continued to make clear his sky-high self-confidence, explaining:
“I knew I had Kylian and Vini, but at that moment the best option was to shoot.”
