Rik Elfrink is reporting that Mylian Jiménez is set to leave PSV when his contract expires at the end of this season. The 21-year-old central midfielder has spent the campaign with Jong PSV in the second tier of Dutch football. He did have the option to remain with the club and spend another season with the second team and potentially push for a place in the first team. However, he has decided to leave with other clubs interested in his services.
While Elfrink mentions that there is interest from abroad, Heerenveen are one of the sides within the Netherlands that are interested in signing Jiménez. The youngster, who has dual Dutch and Colombian nationality, played 32 times in the Dutch second tier, scoring once and providing five assists. Last year he made 22 appearances in the same competition with one goal and one assist. Jiménez will leave PSV without having made an appearance for the senior side.
Heerenveen recently announced Robin van Persie as their new head coach.
