Atalanta wing-back Robin Gosens was full of pride over his performance in Germany's 4-2 victory over Euro 2020 opponents Portugal.

Gosens received a standing ovation, having scored, provided two assists, helped create another goal and seen an early volley disallowed.

“I don't know where to start!" Gosens told Sky Italia.

“It is certainly an unforgettable night for me. We beat a truly strong team and I got my first goal in this tournament, as well as an assist. I am happy and proud.

“We knew that we'd have to win today, because if we lost here then it'd become really difficult to qualify. We tried to give everything both in attack and defence. I'm happy we won the match."

He added: “I want to tell the Atalanta fans that I love you and we'll see each other soon."
