The Belgian FA have announced that Roberto Martínez has resigned from his post as national team manager after exiting the World Cup at the Group Stage.

The announcement confirms that the decision to leave after the conclusion of the tournament had already been decided.

That said, it was expected by many that Belgium would progress to the knockout stages, and their early exit will be seen as a disappointment.

Martínez took over the position as Belgium boss back in 2016, leading the Red Devils to third place in the World Cup in 2018.
