Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini may not be available for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A opener against Genoa as he recovers from a knee injury.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the 27-year-old’s participation in the first match of the season at the Giuseppe Meazza is in doubt given his recovery time.

Yesterday the Nerazzurri provided an official update on the midfielder’s condition, confirming that he could miss at around 15-20 days, and as such his participation in the earliest phase of the season is in doubt.

More will be known next week after the player undergoes more tests which should shed further light on the scope of the injury and give a clearer sense of his recovery time.

However, with the midfielder likely to be out of training for two to three weeks at least, it is doubtful that he will be fully fit and ready to be selected for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A opener.
