Throughout this summer transfer window, FC Barcelona have been linked to various players. From forwards to defenders, the list goes on and on when it comes to reported targets. However, there is only so much that Barcelona can focus on in one window.

For starters, the arrival of a goalkeeper seemed to be their top priority at the start of the season. Thus, the timely acquisition of Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia made perfect sense, and his signing has already been made official as well.
However, beyond that, the club is yet to make another signing. It seemed likely that Nico Williams would be the player whose arrival would be confirmed next, but the Spanish winger ultimately chose to renew his contract with Athletic Club.
Now, especially in recent days, Barcelona have been linked to a certain Dutch right-back who plays his football for Inter Milan in Italy. Denzel Dumfries, aged 29, is a player who had an excellent season in his most recent campaign.
Moreover, he reportedly has a very affordable release clause set at €25 million for right now. However, the catch is that the release clause is only valid until the 15th of July and any club that wants him will have to act quickly.
Barcelona, however, will reportedly not be pursuing his signing this summer. As per the latest update from MARCA, the Catalan giants are not considering the signing of the Dutch full-back and are instead more than happy with the options already at their disposal.
Primarily, Barcelona is more than convinced with the performances of Jules Kounde. The Frenchman had an excellent season with La Blaugrana recently, and was both defensively and offensively superb for them.
Providing assists and also scoring crucial goals, with the most memorable one being his Copa del Rey final winner against Real Madrid, Kounde has earned his place at Barcelona. Moreover, Hansi Flick reportedly has a lot of faith in Eric Garcia as his backup option.
For now, Barcelona do not seem to have a plan to pursue the signing of Denzel Dumfries for both sporting and financial reasons. After all, their financial limitations and inability to give Nico Williams any registration guarantees reportedly led to that operation falling apart as well.
