Robert Vilahamn understands the importance of the connection between fans and the players and the boss was full of praise for their support in our season finale against West Ham United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Although we took an early lead, inside the opening five minutes, we couldn’t capitalise on a dominate first half in N17 before the visitors, shortly after the restart, grabbed an equaliser to make it 1-1.

However, we stuck to playing our football, and rightfully got the goal we deserved in the closing stages of the game as Jess Naz netted her seventh goal of the season with a composed finish before Drew Spence capped off the victory in the ninth minute of injury time with a stunning finish from distance.

Following the incredible support at Wembley last weekend in the Women’s FA Cup, another large crowd turned out at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a warm afternoon, with the players applauding their support in a lap of appreciation after the final whistle.

Robert, who has now completed his first full season at the Club, beamed with a smile when talking about our Lilywhite fanbase.

Speaking to SPURSPLAY, he said: “We knew this game didn’t really affect the table much this season, so you wonder if the fans will come or not, and then you see everybody is here, cheering and staying after the game.

“I just love them so much because they give us so much energy and, I feel, when we are at this stadium, it’s our home, we feel it, they feel it… it’s amazing.”

When asked about what is next, he replied: “Next is the summer vacation to reload and reflect on this year, and then we will work really hard to be even better next season because this is just beginning.”
