Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will struggle to replace utility James Milner when he decides to move on from Anfield.

Milner, who signed for Liverpool from Manchester City on a free transfer back in 2015, has been exceptional for the club.

At 34 years of age, he arguably put in a man of the match performance against Bournemouth at Anfield yesterday.

Liverpool got back to winning ways by defeating Bournemouth 2-1 in the Premier League, however, it was far from a straightforward victory.

The Cherries took the lead through Callum Wilson early in the first-half. However, Klopp’s side responded shortly after, as Mohamed Salah scored his 20th goal for the club season.

Sadio Mane scored towards the end of the first-half, which proved to be the decisive moment in the match. But, it was Milner, who played at left-back in Andy Robertson’s absence, that stood out in the eyes of Ferdinand.
