Both sets of fans were united in chanting against VAR at Goodison Park during Sunday’s clash between Everton and Aston Villa.
While technology did come to the aid of the Toffees by ruling out a fantastic volley from Àlex Moreno, the length of time – almost four minutes – it took to reach the decision frustrated everyone inside the stadium.

The strike was disallowed for an offside call against Leon Bailey prior to teeing up Moreno, with Arnaut Danjuma potentially playing him onside after he was left on the ground following a tussle inside the area.
And the call certainly was a tight one.
