Brazil will face off against Serbia at the Lusail Iconic Stadium this Thursday as they look to earn a positive result on the road. The Brazilians managed to secure a 5-1 win over Tunisia recently which will keep them in high spirits ahead of this crucial World Cup clash.

Tite will probably opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first team for this game. We can expect to see Richarlison lead the line for the South American country in the final third while Rodrygo once again has to settle for a spot on the bench.

Defence

Alisson Becker will function in between the sticks for Brazil as he looks to keep a clean sheet in midweek. Marquinhos could get a chance to impress alongside Thiago Silva at the centre of Tite’s defence as they try to maintain a solid defensive shape at the back during the 90 minutes.

Danilo will operate as the right-back while Alex Sandro focuses on giving a good account of himself as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and express themselves on the attacking end of the field at every chance they get.

Gleison Bremer will be available for selection on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Casemiro and Lucas Paqueta will play as the holding midfielders as they hope to dominate the battle at the centre of the park and feed some decent through balls to the front players.

The gifted trio of Vinicius Jr., Neymar Jr. and Raphinha will function just ahead of them as part of Brazil’s attack. Both Vinicius Jr. and Raphinha have to figure out a way to get in behind Serbia’s backline and create some problems for the opposition from the flanks.

Antony and Fred will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Richarlison will spearhead Tite’s attack on his own up top. The Brazilian talent managed to get his name on the scoresheet versus Tunisia recently, so his confidence will be quite high ahead of this World Cup opener at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.

As mentioned earlier, Rodrygo will be named on the bench but might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Brazil are in need of a goal by then.
