Earlier this month, the president of the CENAFE coaching school Miguel Angel Galan formally approached the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) regarding the registration of Franco Mastantuono into Real Madrid’s reserve team.

He claimed that Real Madrid’s move of registering the player with the Castilla side when the player will be used exclusively for the first team was an irregularity and this must be addressed urgently.

Further, his letter particularly accused Los Blancos of fraud under Article 125 because the Argentine star was a first-team player according to ‘the contract and the transfer fee paid’.

RFEF’s judgment

As relayed in a recent report by Mundo Deportivo, the RFEF Competition judge Jose Alberto Pelaez has decided not to intervene in the Mastantuono case despite the long letter sent in by Angel Galan.

The reason for the judge’s decision, as made clear in his statement, is that the problem did not fall in his jurisdiction as Galan was raising a disciplinary matter that should be handled by the Disciplinary Committee of the RFEF, not a competition judge.

“I agree to dismiss the submission of Mr. Miguel Angel Galan Castellanos, since Mr. Galan is presenting to this Professional Competitions Judge a disciplinary matter that falls under the competence of the corresponding body of the RFEF,” his resolution stated.

The Spanish outlet further adds that Galan is not planning on dropping the case and will indeed take it forward to the Disciplinary Committee or at a higher level of the judiciary.

As it stands, however, the situation does not affect Mastantuono who will continue playing for Xabi Alonso’s side.

He started Los Blancos’ last game in La Liga and his prominence under the manager is only expected to increase in the coming weeks.
