Manchester City are ready to welcome millions into their coffers as Manchester United push to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

The Mirror says Pep Guardiola's side are set for a windfall after negotiating a sell-on fee when the winger left the Etihad for Dortmund in 2017.

And if the Bundesliga side receive the full figure they want for the England international, City stand to benefit by more than £12m.

United have submitted a second bid of £72.5m for 21-year-old Sancho, after their opening offer of £60m was rejected last week.

The latest bid is still £4.5m short of Dortmund's valuation, but a compromise is expected to be reached to allow the deal to go ahead.

The latest offer is likely to be accepted, with a potential £10m in add-ons attached to the fee.

When City sold Sancho for £7.05m four years ago, they negotiated a 15% sell-on fee as part of the deal, according to BBC Sport.

So if Dortmund accept United's £72.5m bid, City will be due £10,875,000m of the upfront fee.

That figure would rise to £11,550,000 if the German club achieve the £77m they want for the winger.

But the sell-on clause applies across the total fee - so if Dortmund receive the full £10m in bonus payments, they will have to shell out £12,375,000 to City.
