A few days ago, a report from Fichajes revealed that Barcelona have expressed interest in signing Marcus Rashford.

Moreover, their information claimed that Manchester United are open to selling the England forward and has set his price at £40 million. Nonetheless, there’s an update on the Spanish team’s interest in the attacking player.

Rúben Amorim’s decision to leave Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of Manchester United’s squad for last Sunday’s derby has sparked rumors about the 27-year-old’s future at the club.

Even without the duo, United pulled off a dramatic 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Josko Gvardiol put City ahead with a first-half header, but Bruno Fernandes equalized with an 88th-minute penalty.

Just two minutes later, Amad Diallo sealed the win, expertly rounding Éderson to score. Rashford’s omission from the squad for this match has only fueled growing speculation about his future at United.

Are Barcelona an option for Marcus Rashford?

ESPN’s Mark Ogden reported in his column that Barcelona will not offer the forward a lifeline to jumpstart his career.

“Only Real Madrid could potentially fund a move for Rashford right now and there is zero interest from the European champions, not only because of his poor form but because Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is already stacked with some of the world’s best attacking talent,” Ogden wrote.

“Barcelona don’t have the money or the appetite to pursue Rashford, and while Atletico Madrid could consider a deal on loan or at a knockdown fee, it is difficult to imagine Rashford having the credentials required to play in a Diego Simeone team.”

According to Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic, Paris Saint-Germain have no interest in Rashford. Additionally, Sky Sports’ Melissa Reddy notes that no clubs are currently pursuing Rashford, citing concerns over his form, off-pitch behavior, and high salary.

Furthermore, Ogden notes that there are two options for Rashford at the moment and those are to get his career on track at Manchester United or head to Saudi Arabia.
