Barcelona management blame super agent Mino Raiola for losing Xavi Simons to PSG.
The 17 year-old midfielder made his first team debut last week against Caen amid much fanfare.
Simons had come through the La Masia system before PSG nicked him away just days after his 16th birthday in 2019.
Sport via Le 10 Sport says Barca coaching staff blame the involvement of Raiola for the departure. The Italian became Simons' agent in 2017 and from there Barca directors always believed the prospect would eventually be leaving.
At 16, Barca offered Simons a bumper pro contract and assurances of promotion to the U19 team. But PSG's proposal was much greater and convinced the midfielder to quit the Spanish giants.
Simons' 12 minutes of action against Coupe de France opponents Caen are so far his only piece of senior action, though he was on the bench for the weekend victory at Nice.
The midfielder's current contract runs to 2022.
