Newcastle United could step in and help Chelsea sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig but of course, not in a direct kind of way.
A lot of transfers this summer are being linked together and are having a domino effect. This is down to FFP and PSR transfer and financial rules making sure that clubs need to balance the books of profits and need player sales as much as they need to sign new players.
Chelsea need sales now to be able to buy more players, that has become obvious. And they do wish to still sign more players in this transfer window.
They are expected to sign Xavi Simons in the remaining weeks of this window but they need to sell players such as Christopher Nkunku and/or Nicolas Jackson before they can finally send an official bid in.
And transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has already given Simons to Chelsea an 85% chance of happening this window, so it does still look on and it does still look positive.

So basically, if Newcastle decide to turn up and buy Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea might be able to go and sign Simons.
Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing Nkunku in the summer window.
According to journalist, Marc Mechenoua, Newcastle and Inter Milan are also in the race to sign the French attacker who has become surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
Newcastle have been linked with Nkunku for a while now but there is nothing to say that an offer is imminent. Bayern Muncih are being heavily linked and seem more likely of a destination for now at least.
Let’s see what happens.
