With Sunderland having sacked Mick Beale in February, Mike Dodds was placed in charge on an interim basis until the end of the season.

With that said, the Black Cats are looking for a new full-time boss at present, with the club presumably set to announce Beale's permanent successor at the end of the season.

Sunderland linked with Sheffield Wednesday's Danny Rohl

One name that has cropped up on their radar in recent days, according to reports, is Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl.

According to iNews, Sunderland have an interest in the Owls boss this summer, with the German having impressed during his time at Hillsborough.

With the above links in mind, we wanted to know how Sheffield Wednesday supporters were feeling, and to give us an insight into this, we spoke to one of FLW's Owls fan pundits Callum Maxted.

Our fan pundit is confident that Rohl will remain at Hillsborough this summer, providing that the club avoid relegation from the Championship and an immediate return to League One.

"I would be disappointed, but it would require a big fee I think," Callum explained to FLW.

"He's under more than a one-year contract, so that would be a choice that the club made rather than him himself.

"I think it depends on what division we're in. I think if we're in the Championship, he stays. I think he sees this as a project and something to grow because of the size of the club and the prospect of doing something great with the club that nobody's done before, so I think that's what makes it an exciting opportunity.

"It all comes down to whether he's going to be backed and helped in any way, to be honest. If he's given that reassurance that he is going to get most of the things that he wants, then that opens the door to the possibility of him staying for longer.

"I think that's a really important thing. To have that trust in your club to deliver the stuff that you want. So I think that's what we need to do in the summer.

"Making sure that he's here and we've got something to build off as a club is really important."

Sheffield Wednesday's league position

With our fan pundit believing that Sheffield Wednesday's league status could determine Rohl's future with the club, the Owls' current league position is crucial.

At present, Sheffield Wednesday sit 22nd and in the relegation zone. Fortunately, they are level on points with Huddersfield in 21st, and within three points of Blackburn Rovers in 18th place.

With just four matches to go, it certainly looks set to be an exciting race for survival, albeit a nail-biting conclusion for supporters of clubs down at the bottom.
