Another player will soon pass through the AC Milan exit door as Marco Pellegrino is closing in on a new loan spell, according to reports.
Milan announced just under one year ago that they had completed the permanent signing of Pellegrino from Club Atlético Platense. The Argentine signed a contract with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2028, and arrived as a bit of an unknown quantity.
He had to be patient and wait for his chance with the Rossoneri under Stefano Pioli, and it ultimately came during a match against Napoli away from home in which the injury crisis worsened. However, he too was unable to see out the game and came off.
Pellegrino was loaned out to Salernitana for the second half of the 2023-24 campaign to try and get more minutes which he did, though they were relegated and thus the search for new accommodation began.
It was reported by this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) that the 21-year-old is closing in on a dry loan back to his home country Argentina, more specifically to Independiente.
Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com is also reporting that the defender will head to Independiente on a season-long loan, with no mention of an option or obligation to buy being included.
