Report: The Key Reason Why Di Maria Is Leaning Toward Signing With Barcelona Over Juventus | OneFootball

There was much expectation earlier in the month that now-former Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria would have already put pen to paper on a free transfer agreement with Juventus by now. Still, this has not come to fruition, as Di Maria remains a free agent.

Juventus club officials have reportedly already met with Di Maria’s representatives on this matter, but the Argentine prefers a free transfer move to Barcelona.

As noted by the Italian-based outlet Corriere dello Sport (via Le10Sport) Jorgelina Cardoso, Di Maria’s wife, has a clear preference that she wants the PSG legend to sign with Barca over Juventus.

The Serie A powerhouse has been open to signing Di Maria to a two-year contract, but as it stands, the ball may be in Barca’s court as to whether it will go all in to sign PSG’s all-time leader in assists.

Di Maria capped off his final season at PSG with 12 total goal contributions, which included seven assists. He finished off with two goals and four assists over his final six Ligue 1 fixtures with PSG.
