FC Barcelona are looking to strengthen their team ahead of the next season, and for this purpose, they will have to make several signings to reinforce some of the weak areas in their squad. As things stand, their top priorities are the signing of a new goalkeeper and a left winger.
Meanwhile, the Catalans are also looking to complete the departures of some of their players who are not expected to be important players in Hansi Flick’s team next season.
In fact, the Blaugrana club has already completed some operations that will bring some income, or allow them to save a significant amount in wages.

In this latter regard, the most notable operation was the departure of the defender Clement Lenglet, who arrived at an agreement with Barcelona for his contract termination, and is now expected to join Atletico Madrid.
This is an important success for the Blaugrana club, as it will allow them to save a significant amount in wages. Now, Mundo Deportivo has provided an overview of how much these savings will be and what would be the impact of this operation in regards to FFP.
Before agreeing to a contract renewal last year, the Frenchman was set to earn €16 million per year till the end of the 2025-26 season. However, he reached an agreement with Barcelona to extend his contract for another season, but with his total wages remaining €32 million. Thus, his yearly wages were reduced to €10.6 million.
According to La Liga rules, the Catalans will get a 60% FFP margin on the amount of money saved in wages and amortization on the defender. Thus, as he was getting €10.6 million per year, Barcelona will get €6.4 million per year in FFP margin with Lenglet’s departure.
However, this margin could increase further if the Frenchman was getting wages more than 5% of the total squad wages. Then, the club would get 70% of his wages and amortization in FFP margin, which would translate into €7.4 million yearly, or €14.8 million in total.
