The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have made a call on the future of young midfielder Pablo Torre.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Torre, for his part, is fresh off a largely frustrating campaign with Barcelona in 2024/25.
Despite impressing when afforded the opportunity, the major competition for places in the attacking midfield role in Hansi Flick’s XI saw the 22-year-old restricted to just five starts across all competitions.
A summer exit for Torre, in turn, has long been rumoured in the media.
And if the latest word stemming from the Camp Nou on Wednesday is anything to go by, then as much appears to be on the cards, with a twist…
As per a report from MD:
‘The idea is to negotiate with his representatives for a contract extension starting in June 2026. Once secured and under control, the club would either loan Torre out with a purchase option or sell him with a buyout clause as affordable as possible.’
In this way, Barcelona would keep control over the long-term future of a player considered ‘excellent’ from both a technical and tactical standpoint by manager Hansi Flick.
