Friday’s reports claim that Parma have turned down an offer of €35m for sought-after young defender Giovanin Leoni from an unspecified Premier League club, as his preference is to stay put in Serie A heading into the 2026 World Cup.
Several high-profile clubs across Europe have expressed an interest in signing 18-year-old Parma defender Leoni this summer, including the ‘big three’ of Juventus, Milan and Inter in Italy, as well as a number of sides in the UK.
According to reports from Corriere dello Sport (via TMW), an offer of €35m from an unspecified Premier League side has recently been rejected.

While Parma reportedly declined, the offer was not considered inadequate. Rather, the player’s desire to stay put and play in Italy is where the issue has come from.
The teenager is reportedly happy to stay on with Parma, where he impressed in his breakthrough season in 2024-25, however the situation could yet change again if an offer from another team in Serie A were to come in.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Inter remains a strong possibility, given the obvious connection with Christian Chivu, who left Parma to become the replacement head coach for Simone Inzaghi at Inter earlier this summer.
TMW adds that if Inter were to come in with a similar offer of €35m, then Parma could be swayed into accepting. An offer from Inter is, however, dependent on player sales first.
