Liverpool’s intent to stay at the summit of English football is loud and clear. After reclaiming the Premier League title in Arne Slot’s debut season, the Reds are wasting no time reinforcing their ranks—and now, they’ve reportedly got their sights set on Real Madrid’s Rodrygo. According to Fichajes, Liverpool are preparing a formal offer exceeding £100 million for the Brazilian winger.
Slot’s revolution at Anfield is in full swing. Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz have already arrived from Bayer Leverkusen, with Wirtz’s fee potentially breaking British records. Milos Kerkez has joined from Bournemouth, while Hugo Ekitike has bolstered the forward line from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The club’s recruitment focus has clearly shifted to wide areas, especially with Luis Diaz nearing a switch to Bayern Munich. That vacuum on the flanks could well be filled by Rodrygo, a player who brings not just flair but European pedigree.
While his numbers don’t jump off the page—6 goals and 6 assists in La Liga from 30 appearances—Rodrygo’s impact often transcends raw stats. His contributions in the Champions League (5 goals in 12 games) reflect a player built for high-pressure moments. That said, under Xabi Alonso at Madrid, his role appears to be diminishing, especially after limited minutes in the Club World Cup.

Fichajes state that Liverpool are “working to present a formal offer” for the winger, with a reported price tag of €120 million (£105 million). His wage demands, reportedly £347,000 per week, underline the scale of Liverpool’s ambition and financial firepower.
One of Rodrygo’s most appealing traits is his versatility. Comfortable on either wing or even in a more central role, he fits the modern Liverpool mould: high energy, technical prowess, and positional intelligence.
Moreover, at just 24 years of age, Rodrygo has already lifted the Champions League, La Liga, and Club World Cup. He’s a serial winner, but crucially, he’s entering his peak years. If this move goes through, it wouldn’t just be a splash—it would be a tidal wave of intent.
Should Liverpool finalise this deal, they will have arguably completed one of the boldest rebuilds in recent memory. In Rodrygo, they wouldn’t just be buying a winger; they’d be investing in a proven talent with room to grow, a player who could define their next era.
With Manchester City looming and Arsenal resurgent, Slot is clearly building a side to sustain success. And if Rodrygo is the final piece, rivals should be very concerned.
From a Liverpool supporter’s lens, this rumoured Rodrygo move is as thrilling as it is ambitious. While some fans may balk at the £105 million price tag, many would argue this is the level of investment needed to keep pace with Manchester City and compete seriously in Europe.
There’s also the emotional tug. Rodrygo isn’t just another talented winger—he’s a big-game player. His knack for delivering in crucial Champions League ties for Real Madrid would give Arne Slot’s Liverpool another dimension in attack, particularly in moments where flair and calm decision-making matter most.
When Luis Diaz does depart, Rodrygo would not only fill the void but arguably elevate the standard. His two-footedness, off-the-ball intelligence, and work rate is what Slot demands.
The only question mark surrounding the situation is if Liverpool complete a move for Alexander Isak, are both actually attainable? It’s a lot of money with CB also needing to be addressed.
