Inter Milan’s starting lineup has changed little so far this summer despite a number of new signings.
This is highlighted by Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb. They anticipate that Petar Sucic will be the only new name in Inter’s starting eleven in today’s friendly match against Olympiacos.
It has been a somewhat busy summer for Inter already.
The Nerazzurri changed coach, for one thing. Simone Inzaghi departed for the allure of big money at Al-Hilal, and Cristian Chivu replaced him.
Reports indicate that Chivu wants to change the formation from a 3-5-2 to more of a 3-4-2-1.
Meanwhile, Inter have signed wingback Luis Henrique, midfielder Petar Sucic, and striker Ange-Yoan Bonny.
Then, just as notably, Inter have also made 20-year-old striker Francesco Pio Esposito a part of their first team plans.
These new arrivals have certainly lived up to the Nerazzurri’s plan to lower the average age of the squad.
However, there are questions about whether Inter have signed any players who will make a big change to the first-choice starting eleven right away.

Inter will play their last preseason friendly against Olympiacos this evening.
And Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu is planning to play his first-choice starting eleven, more or less. He wants today’s match to be a trial run for the team’s Serie A opener against Torino.
TuttoMercatoWeb anticipate that summer signing Petar Sucic will start in midfield. The Croat will take the place of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
However, the outlet report that nine of the other ten starters will be the ones who started in the Champions League final, which saw Inter lose 5-0 to Paris Saint-Germain.
Stefan de Vrij, meanwhile, will start in the centre of the back three rather than Francesco Acerbi. Hardly new blood, though.
The formation will still be a 3-5-2 as it had been under Simone Inzaghi and Antonio Conte.
And so far, the Nerazzurri have not signed any players who will immediately shift the balance of the starting eleven.
There is still the possibility that Inter could bring in Ademola Lookman. The Atalanta forward would certainly change the dynamic and facilitate a change to a 3-4-2-1 shape.
Meanwhile, Inter have been linked with Roma midfielder Manu Kone for a couple days. However, that deal looks to be off.
In defense, it had seemed inevitable that Inter would make changes this summer. However, they’ve missed out on big targets like Koni De Winter and Giovanni Leoni.
