Premier League champions Liverpool have joined Inter Milan in the race to sign Parma youngster Giovanni Leoni.

According to Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, the Reds are considering hijacking Inter’s pursuit of the 18-year-old.

Inter Milan have been hot on the center-back’s tail since the beginning of the summer transfer window.

However, the San Siro giants have struggled to find an agreement with Parma due to the Crusaders’ high demands.

Indeed, Parma won’t sell Giovanni Leoni for less than €40 million.

Therefore, the deal is in jeopardy, even though the youngster wants to reunite with Cristian Chivu at San Siro.

Furthermore, Inter’s inability to meet Parma’s asking price has opened the door for foreign suitors.

Having spotted a window of opportunity, Liverpool are ready to act.
