Inter Milan have missed out on one of the most notable players to come out of Argentine football recently.

The Nerazzurri had been among the clubs to show an interest in Franco Mastantuono. However, it was Real Madrid who won the race to sign Mastantuono in the end.

However, Inter are still monitoring Argentine football for potential signings. Particularly considering the focus on signing young players for the future under Oaktree Capital.

And according to River Noticias, Inter have identified one of Mastantuono’s former River Plate teammates as a possible target.

According to River Plate, one player who has caught Inter’s eye is teenage forward Ian Subiabre.

The 18-year-old has been getting opportunities in the River first team of late. He made his senior debut for the club in 2024.

As River Noticias note, Subiabre is currently under contract with River Plate until the end of December 2026.

That contract also has a release clause of €30 million in it.

However, reports River Noticias, River Plate are trying to extend Subiabre’s deal.
