There are reports in England that Paul Pogba could return to the Premier League for Manchester City, but the ex-Juventus midfielder seems more inclined towards the USA or Olympique Marseille.

The France international is now a free agent after terminating his contract with Juve by mutual consent and will be available to play again from March 2025, when his reduced ban is set to expire.

He failed a doping test last year for raised testosterone levels and was initially given a four-year ban, but that was reduced on appeal.

Nonetheless, Juve made it clear that he did not have a future with the club and formally terminated his contract by mutual consent last month.

According to The Independent newspaper, Manchester City have made an approach to Pogba’s entourage to see if he would be interested in joining Pep Guardiola’s side.

He would be the replacement for Rodri, who is out for the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

However, the same report also notes that Pogba is reticent to even consider them because of his two different spells with their rivals Manchester United.

Italian media has been confident that Pogba’s next career step will either be in Major League Soccer – most likely Inter Miami – or a return to France for Adrien Rabiot’s Olympique Marseille.
