On Wednesday, reports surfaced that Fulham have made an offer worth an initial £12 million for Olympique Lyonnais’ Rayan Cherki. However, this rumor didn’t take long to fall by the wayside.
Cherki has attracted the attention of several top European clubs this summer, including Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur. The Athletic’s Peter Rutzler reported that Fulham looked to beat these clubs and even Crystal Palace for the OL standout.
Moreover, L’Equipe reports Lyon have accepted Fulham’s €15 million plus €5 million bid for Cherki. The decision now rests with the player on whether to join the Premier League side. Nonetheless, it appears the player has no desire to play for the English side.
RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins reported on Wednesday that Cherki won’t be moving to Fulham. Additionally, his information reveals that Lyon knows about this, and Fulham has been aware for the past 48 hours.
There haven’t been any talks between Cherki and the club, but there should be more updates on his situation in the coming days.
Cherki broke into the Lyon first team in 2019 and has 141 appearances across all competitions, scoring 17 goals and registering 25 assists during his time with Les Gones.
