Thanks to his increased playing time, Flamengo striker Rodrigo Muniz has been gaining a lot of attention in the transfer market this summer.

After being linked with moves to Belgian side Genk and UAE outfit Al-Nasr, Marca reported on Tuesday that LaLiga champions Atlético Madrid are now keen on the 20-year-old’s services.

Following last year’s loan spell with Coritiba, Flamengo boss Rogério Ceni specifically requested his return, which was met with immediate results in the Campeonato Carioca.

With Gabigol going to Copa América and Pedro currently with the Brazil Olympic squad, Muniz has been given important minutes and came through with three goals in his first two Brasileirão starts with the club.

Though Flamengo have Muniz under contract under 2024, his release clause is only €6m. Furthermore, São Paulo minnows Desportivo Brasil still own 50% of his economic rights, so there is nothing else the Rubro-Negro could do to profit more from the player.

With that being said, Flamengo will almost certainly let the player leave to the club of his choosing this summer.
