Ajax have enquired about the possibility of signing Ishe Samuels-Smith during negotiations with Chelsea for Jorrel Hato according to reports.
Samuels-Smith signed a new long term contract at Chelsea earlier this year, but he’s yet to make his debut for the first team.
The youngster had been mentioned as a possible back-up to Marc Cucurella for next season, but the Blues are going in a different direction.
Samuels-Smith is attracting interest from Championship clubs as well as Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg, with the Blues said to want around £8m.

The report adds the Dutch giants haven’t yet made a formal approach, with the 19-year-old’s entourage currently in France discussing a permanent move to Strasbourg.
Football London add Samuels-Smith wants to join Strasbourg, with there confidence a deal can be agreed by the end of the week.
A move to Strasbourg would offer Samuels-Smith an easy way back to Chelsea if he impresses, and the Blues could put a buy back clause in any potential deal.
Ajax also wouldn’t be a bad move given their record at developing young players, but Chelsea wouldn’t have the same control if that move happened.
Chelsea are advancing quickly on the deal for Hato, and are hoping to agree a fee of around £34m, with the fee Arsenal paid for Jurrien Timber reportedly being used as a benchmark.
The Blues have agreed personal terms with Hato, who’s informed Ajax he wants to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.

The 19-year-old can play as both a left back and centre back, and will provide much needed back-up for Marc Cucurella.
If Hato completes a move to Stamford Bridge he could link up with his Dutch team-mate Xavi Simons, with the Blues closing in on a deal for the 22-year-old.
