Stade Rennais are looking to refresh their forward line this summer and, according to a report from Mohamed Toubache-Ter, are considering a move for RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner (29).
The German spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur from RB Leipzig. However, he struggled to make an impact, netting just once in 27 games in all competitions. He made just four starts in the Premier League under Ange Postecoglou before returning to his parent club. However, he does not look to have a future at RB Leipzig, who brought Werner back to the club following a mixed spell at Chelsea.
He may be set for a fresh challenge in France. With Arnaud Kalimuendo heavily linked with a departure, the Breton side are in the market for a forward. Werner is a target, Toubache-Ter understands, as is former AS Monaco forward Willem Geubbels, who currently plays for Swiss side FC St. Gallen. The former’s contract at RB Leipzig expires next summer.
