Le Parisien report this afternoon that Lille’s Portuguese midfielder has decided to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer, although an agreement with his former club is still pending.
The former Bayern Munich and Benfica man is said to be dreaming of playing under Christophe Galtier again, with the Frenchman having been his manager in the north of France when he won the Ligue 1 title in 2020/21, as well as Luis Campos, formerly with Les Dogues but now PSG’s new sporting advisor.
Lille initially accepted an offer worth €15m from Milan for the Portuguese international, but the asking price then doubled once PSG entered the race to sign Sanches.
PSG have reportedly offered €10m to buy out the final year of the 24-year-old’s contract, with Sanches himself having rejected the advances of the Rossoneri.
A three-year deal is on the table for the midfielder, who despite injuries made 32 appearances and scored twice as Les Dogues failed to defend their title under Jocelyn Gourvennec. Campos has told his former team that should they not accept the offer now on the table, PSG will be happy to wait a year to sign him on a free.
