Reece Oxford is back in the Bundesliga after permanently leaving West Ham.
The 20-year-old played eight times for Augsburg in the Bundesliga in 2019 while on loan.
He now joins the club for an undisclosed fee on a contract until 2023.
Oxford shone at West Ham as a youth player and made his Premier League debut at 16, when he impressed against Arsenal.
Since, though, he has struggled for first team football and had loan spells with Borussia Mönchengladbach, Reading and Augsburg.
“I’m very happy that a permanent move to Augsburg worked out,” Oxford said.
“I felt comfortable in the city and at the club for the last half a year and would like to take the next step in my development in the Bundesliga.”
