After a promising season that saw Red Star Football Club finish in third place in the Championnat National (third tier), attention now turns to the future of coach Habib Beye. According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, the former Senegalese international defender is the top priority for FC Sochaux-Montbéliard to succeed the interim duo of Sylvain Monsoreau and Pierre-Alain Frau.
Discussions between the 45-year-old coach and the Sochaux management are reportedly already underway, indicating mutual interest from both parties. The initial meeting was successful, and negotiations are ongoing to solidify this mutual interest. If an agreement is reached, Beye would bring his experience as a former international player and his tactical expertise developed throughout his career to Sochaux.
Last winter, Ligue 1 Brest had already considered Beye, but he opted to finish the season with Red Star. As the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 seasons come to a close, several clubs have expressed interest in him, including Sochaux. Amiens and Paris FC, in search of a successor to Thierry Laurey, are also said to be evaluating Beye’s profile.
