Red Bull united at the Otten Innovation Cup | OneFootball

The RB Leipzig academy is currently serving as a hub for the ‘world of Red Bull’. Before the start of the Otten Innovation Cup, a top-level U19 tournament in Eindhoven, RBL youth players are preparing for the competition alongside talents from RB Omiya (Japan), Red Bull Bragantino (Brazil) and New York Red Bulls (USA). Most exciting of all is the fact that one united team has been created from all four clubs – a shining example of the international collaboration within the Red Bull family.

The tournament squad contains around 20 players, including ten from Leipzig (U17s and U19s). The youth players have been training together at Cottaweg since the weekend and are making the most of the facilities at RBL’s academy in order to prepare as best as possible for the upcoming tournament.

Activities for the group have included a welcome meeting for all the players, attending RB Leipzig U19s’ opening victory in Halle, a tour of RBL’s academy and a visit to the Red Bull Arena. A particular highlight for the international talents was stopping by the first team’s public training session on Tuesday, where they met the players and got the chance to take plenty of photos together.

For our boys, it’s a special opportunity to gain international experience and face off against top youth teams. At the same time, we also have an important U19 cup game this weekend – that’s why we’ll be using players in Eindhoven who can really use this opportunity to prove themselves at a top-class level.”
