Real Sociedad confirm Zubimendi blow ahead of Las Palmas | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have on Wednesday confirmed a fresh injury blow in the club’s first-team squad.

The player in line for an incoming spell on the sidelines? Martín Zubimendi.

Midfielder Zubimendi, for his part, has continued to play an absolutely pivotal role in Imanol’s Sociedad ranks across the season to date, racking up more appearances and more minutes than any other player.

Amid the club’s ongoing push for European football for next season, it will in turn no doubt mark a heavy blow to hear of the 25-year-old having picked up an injury.

As per an official statement across La Real’s website and social media platforms, Zubimendi will not be available to face Las Palmas in La Liga this coming weekend.

As much comes with the midfield maestro having suffered a thigh injury whilst training on Tuesday:

‘Martin Zubimendi suffered an injury to his left biceps femoris muscle during training yesterday.

‘He has begun to be treated through physical therapy. The return to normal activity will be progressive and will depend on the characteristics of the injury and the clinical evolution.’
