Atletico Madrid will look to strengthen their forward line this summer, and three key targets have been revealed. It is Villarreal’s Alexander Sorloth that tops that list though, as per the latest from the Spanish capital.

According to Marca, Sorloth is the forward that Atletico like most, as they look for a forward that can give them goals immediately. The 28-year-old Norwegian is the top scorer in La Liga this season, with 23 to his name and one more game.

Their task may be made tricky though. Sorloth is seemingly happy in Castellon, and after the birth of his child, is keen to have stability, having traversed Europe in recent years. The Yellow Submarine are also looking to hang onto him, and he has a €38m release clause. Los Rojiblancos will try to reduce that price to €30-35m in negotiations, but he is set to be their major investment of the summer. Atletico are also willing to offer players in the deal to bring the price down.

Girona’s Artem Dovbyk and Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy are the two other candidates on their shortlist that have been revealed. The latter would be the cheapest, but there is more competition for him. Memphis Depay looks destined for an exit, while Alvaro Morata’s tempting release clause could also see him move.
