FC Bayern will host Eintracht Frankfurt at home in the Allianz Arena on Saturday (15:30, live on Sky). The clash against the Hessians is the dress rehearsal for the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. Thomas Tuchel is also making no secret of the fact that the focus is on the premier class.

Frankfurt in front of him, Real on his mind. Even if Bayern are understandably focussing fully on the Champions League in the final sprint of the season, they want to use the Bundesliga to gain the necessary self-confidence for the clash against the Whites.

In addition, CL qualification for the coming season has not yet been finalised. However, Munich could change that with a home win against Frankfurt tomorrow. The exciting question is therefore: Will Tuchel play the clash against the Hessians with a „B“ team and prepare his top stars for the semi-final first leg against Real next week, or will the FCB coach give his „A“ team the opportunity to warm up?

Sane and Gnabry are not available

At the pre-match press conference, Tuchel commented on his thoughts as follows: „We can’t practise anything for Real against Frankfurt, it’s a completely different situation. Against Frankfurt and against Stuttgart there is a background noise, the game against Madrid. We’re not thinking 100 per cent about Frankfurt. That’s part of it. But we’ll still be there against Frankfurt. We want to play a top game tomorrow because we need points and want to keep the momentum. So it’s step by step, we’re preparing the team for tomorrow in the best possible way.“

Tuchel also gave an update in terms of personnel. Two players, Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala, were missing for the 5-1 win over Union Berlin. While Musiala is fit again, Sané and Gnabry are not available: „Serge Gnabry will play on Tuesday. We’ll have to wait and see if Leroy Sané is fit enough for Tuesday. He’s just doing his first individual training session, so we can’t make any predictions.“

Dayot Upamecano is also injured: „Dayot Upamecano twisted his ankle in training, he’ll be doubtful for tomorrow. We’ll have to wait and see because of the ankle.“
