At the same time, Real Madrid must carefully assess their current options, both in terms of fitness and form.

Militao to start Super Cup final

A recent report from Diario AS has offered a fresh update on Real Madrid’s outlook on Eder Militao.

It appears the club are seeing green shoots in Militao’s recent form and fitness in the ongoing Copa America.

They are particularly impressed by the fact that Militao has not only started games for Brazil but also impressed in Copa America.

Keeping that in mind, Militao looks all set to start for Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta in Warsaw, which will be played on August 14.

The Brazilian international will appear alongside Antonio Rudiger at the heart of Real Madrid’s backline as they take on the Italian outfit.

This is a major boost for Real Madrid fans, who had to cope with Militao’s absence for almost the entirety of last season. The defender was not fully fit in the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.

This is why Real Madrid are particularly excited by Militao’s performances in the Copa American and will be hopeful that the defender continues his excellent form.

The Real Madrid star, after all, has gotten the nod ahead of defenders like Gabriel Magalhaes, Beraldo and Bremer. Whether or not this trend will continue throughout the tournament remains to be seen.
