Real Madrid have been enjoying the celebrations of their league title this afternoon, and will have a number of decisions to make in the near future regarding some of their more veteran title winners. However reports emerged on Sunday morning that Real Madrid had already made one regarding Florian Wirtz, the jewel in Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga crown.

The 21-year-old has been in inspired form this season, driving Leverkusen forward, and local press in Madrid reported that he would be Real Madrid’s top target for the 2025 season. Matteo Moretto has confirmed to Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing that Los Blancos have been following Wirtz for some time, and have sent scouts to watch Wirtz in person. They have also asked for extra information about the German playmaker, but so far they have made no further advances, nor made any decisions on him, as per the Italian transfer journalist.

Wirtz has a rumoured price tag of €150m, and is the envy of every club in Europe currently, with 18 goals and 19 assists in his 46 appearances so far. He will not be on the move this summer, as he and Xabi Alonso lead Leverkusen back into the Champions League. Few clubs will be able to afford his price tag, and fit his potential – Real Madrid are amongst them.
